New Years Resolutions

There are times when God changes the direction of your path because he has your best interests in mind. If you are praying he’s working on making miracles happen and will restore everything the enemy attempted to destroy. Sometimes he removes you from a situation because you deserve to know the full capacity of his joy. Jesus has been knocking on the door of my soul throughout my life but it wasn’t until this year I fully opened this door as I began to read the Bible and was brought into his Holy house to hear and absorb the full power of the Holy Spirit. He has spoken! I am ready to embrace 2019, let the restoration begin in his Holy name, Hallelujah!

Despite all efforts to create your own destiny there will be times when things spin out of control and you realize the only concrete presence in your life is God. In passing, people have mentioned to me that they don’t believe in God or Jesus. I chose to follow Jesus and this is not a religion but it’s a relationship with my savior.  I was called to write and I decided start publishing some of my Bible journaling. To focus on moving into 2019, I value these three Godly New Year Resolutions!

1. Count My Daily Blessings

King James Version, Ephesians 5: 20

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I will wake up with a new appreciation for everything God has granted me, I will pay attention to detail and embrace his love like never before. I feel him as the wind brushes past the branches of an old tree where I rest and find shelter against it’s strong trunk. With confidence I approach 2019 as I am bathed in the blood of Christ of protection.

2. Avoid The Lies Of The Enemy

Common English Bible, Proverbs 17: 4

An evildoer pays attention to guilty lips; a liar listens to a destructive tongue.

I am ready and prepared to rebuke lies created to rob me of my joy! Whether it’s malicious gossip, depression lies, doubt, fear, this is the year I am literally going to turn the other cheek and focus on God’s divine guidance as I embrace spiritual growth.

3. Follow The Holy Spirit

Amplified Bible, Mark 1: 8

I will go wherever I feel drunken with the Holy Spirit, I will see the light and feel the presence of angels who sing and rejoice with victory. I will be ready to receive the gifts of peace and happiness.

Opening Yourself Up To Communication

I enrolled in a Bible study that focuses on the names of God. Each name expresses his different capacities to relating to humanity. These names allow for the worshiper to connect with God on a personal level. They are used to call on him for different purposes. The name of Elohim represent God as the creator of all. I’ve been able to invest some time absorbing the great essence of Elohim’s magnitude, in fact I’ve been spending some quality moments communicating with him. The experiences I’ve been having since I became Christian are profound. Each expression of grace reassures my faith. I feel that the universe is so specifically manufactured that it would be hard to question the existence of nothing.

Amplified Bible, John 1: 1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him not even one thing was made that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or over power it or appropriate it or absorb it.

Most of my life I’ve been able to associate to a supernatural presence, guided by wisdom far beyond my reasoning. It wasn’t until studying the teachings of Christianity that I discovered this was the blessings from the Holy Spirit.A near by public park provides the best overview of a monumental nature preserve which is home to a bountiful array of local wildlife. This area became a place where I would pass by while taking an afternoon run. It wasn’t until connecting to Elohim that I began to take small breaks from my busy exercise routine just to gaze into the landscape. Then one day while sitting on the bench contributed by fundraising foundations I became fully mesmerized by a paddling of ducks. They gracefully floated on top of the water and I wondered what kept them so buoyant, these ducks were like Jesus walking on water. A clear sharp  thought popped into my mind: “Your homework, read the Bible sections  about Jesus walking on water”.

Amplified Bible, John 6: 16-21
When evening came, His disciples went down to the sea, and the got into a boat and started to cross the sea to Capernaum. It was already dark, and Jesus had still not come back to them. The sea was getting rough and rising high because a strong wind was blowing. Then, when they had rowed three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and approaching the boat; and the were frightened. But Jesus said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid”. Then they were willing to take Him on board the boat, and immediately the boat reached the land to which they were going.

This is how God has been speaking to me. These thoughts are his words. The scriptures are written to exhibit the supernatural powers of Jesus. It also inspires to keep the focus on Jesus in tribulations filled with fear and doubt.

Everything God Is Preparing For You Is Worth The Wait

I willing and literally handed the key over to my old routine to follow the word of God after Jesus re-enter into my life. Over the years I never lost my faith but became angry during times I had felt I had no control. Still he continued to carry on his love for his lost child, my heavenly father was persistent in protecting me and saved me from things far worse. How blessed and grateful I am!

I called out in hurt “Why are you not answering me?”

His response was very clear, “Do you listen? Listen to me, you deserve better.”

That one sentence changed everything.

Amplified Bible, John 15:11

I have told you these things so that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy may be made full and complete and overflowing.

God does not want us to suffer. He asks only that we seek him to find answers and our path will be filled with promise.

For a long time, I tried to look for solutions without praying on my decisions. This only lead me to an endless cycle of seeking. The mind is a spiritual battle field and for many years the enemy tried to convince me that I was unworthy of receiving God’s love. The devil whispered hopelessness into my ear and used people or events to break my faith. I felt humiliated, angry and severely depressed. Worst of all I became angry towards God. Today, I ask God for his forgiveness of my sins. How free I was when I finally realized that God never left my side during turmoil. God was always there to protect me.

Finding Jesus

This blog is a prayer journal based on my personal relationship with Jesus of Nazareth and how I began to recognize him as my King, my Savior. I have been filled with the Holy Spirit and would like to use my God given talents to praise his name.

Amplified Bible, Jeremiah 17: 7
But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.

If it is not God’s will then it is not meant to be, his love never loses faith or gives up on us. He is the steady rock to lean on. He never leaves us alone. Bring him your worries and burdens, allow a direct relationship with him to grow.

Jesus called out to me, I ran directly into his arms, because of him I fear no evil.
